I spent nearly a decade working in fundraising and voice over work for TV and radio, but when I started my family, I knew I wanted to give all my attention to my kids. After a three year break, I decided to start working part-time so that I could still be a stay-at-home mom. I'm now narrating audio books for Brilliance Audio and working on my second novel. The freelancing gives me flexibility to control my schedule and be here for my kids. Plus, narrating for me doesn't even feel like work: it feels like more of an adventure. I'm still writing, and looking for an agent, and may return to fundraising and grant-writing in the future. For now, I'm just enjoying my kids while working on my career on my schedule. It's a good balance.
