I "relaunched" by entering a full time, intensive six year rabbinical school program after 15 years of active Jewish community involvement. This included three years as the president of the Boston Chapter of a major Jewish organization, and later serving as a National Board member. In these volunteer roles, I realized the ideal profession for me was one where I could combine my focus on community, Judaism, and scholarship, and use my skills as a public speaker, teacher and spiritual leader during the challenges and celebrations in life, and as a community organizer. I started rabbinical school the day before my youngest child started kindergarten and this year I graduated along with my twins who graduated from high school. I recently accepted a position as the Rabbi for Hebrew Senior Life, a system integrating senior health care, housing, research and teaching. I focus on ritual observances and life events, teaching and pastoral care.
